Any advice please....

I have 4 Wheel Disk, inboard Jag Rear, new Master, new Wilwood Caliper’s and the Brakes are hard as a rock and car barely stops. Terrible.

Thanks

G'day Joe,
Couple of things to check, 1st is pedal ratio, if unboosted should be 6-1 or better still 7-1. Also check size of the Master Cylinder, sounds like it's too big, especially if the pedal feels like you're just pressing hard on a bit of wood. Will be interested to hear the outcome on this one.
Regards,
Mike.

A sticking caliper can cause a hard pedal, so can moisture in the lines or a restriction in the lines. As Mike said, the wrong size master cylinder could do it too. If your daily driver has power brakes, getting into a car with non power brakes, the pedal can seem hard.

On these cars, pedal ratio is critical. Having said that, when it's right, pedal will not feel hard, and stopping is almost as effortless as with power boost.

I got mine from Spirit, part # SB7101. They are $41. Made for t bucket applications. Check your pedal ratio, unless it's not a new build.

Most of my 4 wheel disc experience has been with Corvettes, these t buckets are different animals, maybe one of the more seasoned members here can be more helpful, Joe.

Here is the one I use on my 4 wheel disk Brake set up in my Bucket with a Jag Rear end. Raybestos MC36300 it was used on 70's Chevys. This has been use to fix many Buckets and we do not use prop valves on any T Buckets....

Pedal ratio? This car was built many years ago. The Master and Calipers were rebuilt and re-installed.
Wait, was built many years ago and recently rebuilt... did the brakes ever work well? If so, I would reccomend troubleshooting the existing system or components before changing anything. More variables isn’t usually helpful. Just a thought. If you have a hard pedal, how much travel? Is the master releasing? Do you have clamping on all four wheels? Are there any check valves or proportioning valves? Any chance something may have been reinstalled in the wrong direction, etc? Just thinking, no negative inference. Sounds like a nice car with quality parts... could be a simple adjustment.

Use the link below for a Diagnostic Flow Chart that includes 9 different problems. The 2nd chart
is for Hard Pedal which I have posted below for convenience.

I have never used them in the cars I have run.....do not need them cause there will be no drain back unless you have a leak........Brake systems are closed systems so if you have to use one you have something that is not right.....IMHO...
